STOCKHOLM, Sweden – Frame, the leading gaming communications agency in the Nordics, has recently welcomed some of the most experienced professionals in the gaming industry. The newly recruited profiles will strengthen the company’s board. Additionally, the agency has made some changes to its management team. These additions will further enrich the agency's extensive expertise.
– It's truly fantastic to be able to strengthen both the company and the agency's expertise, especially given the challenging climate that agencies currently face, says John Uggla, founder of Frame.
Through innovative strategies, in-depth industry knowledge, and consistently well-executed campaigns, Frame has solidified its position as the leading gaming agency in the Nordics. With new additions to both the board and the management team, Frame is now equipped to further develop its operations.
The list of new members includes some of the most prominent profiles in the gaming and esports sector, who are now joining the agency's group of owners. Among the newcomers are Pontus Eskilsson (Vice President Global Partnership, Twitch), Tua Asplund (co-founder of A house), and Christian Lord (former Director, Global Digital Media Rights, EFG). Their collective experience and industry insights are expected to significantly contribute to Frame's strategic direction and future growth.
Pontus Eskilsson, made his first major impact in the gaming industry at Fragbite about fifteen years ago, where he quickly became a central figure in Swedish esports. His work there paved the way for a move to Amazon-owned streaming giant Twitch, where he is now part of the global management team. During his time at Twitch, Eskilsson was also named one of Forbes' 30-under-30, and he will be instrumental in Frame's continued business development.
– Gaming is socially accepted in Sweden, and we are definitely at the forefront when it comes to innovation. With this, the commercial opportunities are growing, and Frame has done a fantastic job positioning itself as a communications agency in just a couple of years. I look forward to helping the company's management team move forward, he says.
With over 20 years in the esports industry and 15 years at EFG (ESL Gaming and DreamHack), Christian Lord brings a wealth of experience. As a former co-owner of DreamHack and Head of Esports, Christian has spent the past 8 years working on commercialization with global responsibility for media rights on platforms such as Twitch, Youtube, TikTok, and Meta. One example is his managing one of the major global partnerships, Monster Energy.
– I have been following Frame's team since before the company was formed, and I have always been impressed by their ability to deliver and help companies enter or develop their gaming engagement. With an already fantastic portfolio and a Swedish market with very good opportunities, I look forward to supporting Frame with my expertise, especially in global distribution and media advertisement, Lord adds.
Frame is also making changes to the company's management team. Kunal Chopra, former CEO, is leaving the company, and John Uggla, Chairman of the Board and co-founder, will step in as acting CEO. Additionally, Devina Lindberg, Head of Project, joins the management team, where she will be joined by Marcus Berggren, who recently was recruited as Head of Agency. Berggren comes from The North Alliance, where he worked as Talent Director. The two will become part of a management team that already includes Ninort El Khoury, Christoffer Åhlund, and Uggla.
In addition to new external names, several of Frame's employees are also joining in the list of owners, including Nadja Segerdahl, Devina Lindberg, and Marcus Berggren.
– With a new management team, board, and amazing employees, it feels truly fantastic to strengthen both the company and the agency's expertise, especially given the challenging climate that agencies currently face, says Uggla.
The current owners of Frame already include Tomas Lyckedal (formerly of Dreamhack), Niklas Kronquist, Ulf Nordlund, and Nicklas Andersson at Black Molly Entertainment, Daniel Rapp and Magnus Rapp, Carl Bjerkne (formerly of Candy Crush), and Joakim Akterhall (former esports professional and Dota 2 world champion).
